Floss facts

This hygiene ribbon is tougher than you think :

1. A substitute for thread : when there is/are rip in your camping gears (tent, sleeping bag, raincoats, backpack or umbrella), sew up the rip using dental floss instead of thread. Dental floss is stronger and more durable than thread. Therefore, it is an excellent substitute for thread especially in the application of mending and fixing outdoor equipment.

2. Hanging or tying items : dental floss can be used to hang picture frames, wind chimes etc. if the itme to be hung is a little heavy, then be sure to loop several strands to form stronger cord. it also can be used to tie up packages, plastic bags and even plants.

3. Cutting food : dental floss can be used to cut food with delicate texture such as wobbly jelly, decorative layer cake etc into thin slices or pieces. Cut the floss to 8 extra iches in additon to the width of the widest part of the jelly or cake. Then using unflavoured and waxed dental floss, wrap one end of the floss around one fingger of one hand and the other end around the same finnger of the other hand. pull the cord of floss tautly and push it firmly straight down through the helly or cake ito desired sizes.

4. Separating stuck photos : slide some waxed dental floss between the top corner of the two stuck photographs or underneath the edge to the page of the album and gently work your way across the stuck surfaces.

5. Removing a stuck ring : Tightly wind some waxed dental floss around the ring finger starting from the nail and winding upwards until you reach the edge of the ring. Then firmly tug the ring onto the wrapped floss and slide the ring off.

6. Cleaning hard-to-reach places : Floss can be an invaluable tool in penetrating crevices and narrow gaps where blunt instruments may fail. Fold a thin piece of cloth over the floss and insert into the crevice or gap. Then use the flossing action to rub off the grime
